Case Study 6

Mr D was a Dutch national who was in this country in order to look after his child after the child’s mother was unable to continue looking after him. Having been made homeless the client applied for housing via the local authority. He was refused on the grounds that he did not have the right to reside. With the assistance of an opinion from Counsel BAC researched the complex English and European law surrounding this case. Our legal submission convinced the local authority to change the decision, and the two are now securely housed.
